I'm usually a wait-until-clearance game buyer, but I bought it on Tuesday. Haven't even had a chance to open the case yet due to packing and work. The reviews make it sound like it's fantastic though.
Cracked it open last night and played for about 3 hours. So far I really like it. Graphics are spectacular, and the game play is fun. In the beginning there are a lot of video scenes you have to watch, but I guess they move the story along. Got to kill a bunch of rabbits and coyotes to learn how to shoot. Finally got to take out some outlaws too. Very fun so far.
I was concerned it would be like Assassin's Creed. For some reason, I just can't get into that game.
Yeah its pretty much GTA 4 but in the wild wild west. I thought it would be like Gun but to me Gun felt more like the western version of True Crime. It is pretty cool so far, I havent played it too much either due to work but its a keeper!!
I actually liked Gun. It looks like the graphics and gameplay are much better than GTA. Now I just wait until my son can entertain himself without destroying himself or something in the house. Maybe by then It will be less money.
Yeah Gun was alot of fun, it was the first game I played on the 360 and beat. I remember working at Gamestop at the 360 launch and people kept saying it was GTA of the Old West but it was no Red Dead Revolver....I wonder what happened to the planned sequel
I didn't enjoy red dead revolver. Gamestop employee folk are nerds.
There is some kind of Red Dead Redemption special that is airing on Fox this Saturday. sounds like they basically made a 30 minute commercial using cut scenes and models from the game. I'm going to be moving, so I won't catch it. I'd be worried about spoilers anyway.
So, any tutoring on the dead eye would help. I like the first stage. The evolved stages kinda suck. By the time I start shooting the fuckers are behind cover.
I haven't had any problems, but perhaps I'm still at the first stage.
Stage 3 Dead Eye achieved. It is much better than the 2nd stage. They actually give a tutorial on this stage, I guess I missed or skipped the other tutorial. This stage kicks ass!!
Finished the Single Player story this morning. What happens at the end was quite a shock, but thankfully sets it up for a nice sequel. Good storytelling.
Now I just need to ride around the countryside and complete some of the minor tasks I didn't complete yet.
thankfully wasnt a lot of MP achievements, but is an awesome game none the less, one of the best games so far this year

It occurs to me now that Mr. Potato Head is in fact the ultimate drug mule. I encourage all readers and media personalities to begin using the phrase potato heading to describe this practice from now on.
I do nothing but get my ass kicked on Multi-player. Almost won a Gold Rush game.....once.
Is there much point to the game after the main story is finished?
You can still go around and try to level up on the Sharpshooter, Hunter, Gatherer, and Treasure challenges (assuming you didn't get to Level 10 before the end of the game). I've got 1 more Sharpshooter, 4 more Hunter (can't find another damn cougar to knife), 2 more Treasures, and 1 more Gatherer.
There are also a few Rockstar Social Challenges that are kind of fun.
Wait till you get to knife the bear.
Sounds like Bear's packing heat.
